WHERE IN THE WORLD ARE YOU?
by Randy Karr

One never knows what fate awaits them at Hellbrunn Palace. A man who was both a prince and an archbishop built this palace using the riches he made mining white gold (salt). It become world-famous for its trick fountains and has remained unchanged to this day. As today's visitors walk amidst this playground of fountains, all created in the 1600s by a mad fountain designer, they are randomly drenched by jets of water coming from behind trees and bushes or from surprising places like the table you see before you. This table is where the Archbishop would bring his summer visitors to serve them dinner.

After-dinner-etiquette, at the time, demanded that no one rise from his or her seats until the Archbishop did so. When the meal was over, the Archbishop, with a mischievous grin, secretly signaled his servant to turn on the water jets hidden in each seat. When he did, columns of water erupted under each visitor, soaking all, except, that is, the Archbishop. Since his seat had no such water jet, his behind stayed dry while he remained seated. Sound of Music fans also know Hellbrunn Palace as the place where Liesl and Franz first met in the palace's pavilion. Hellbrunn is located three miles from a city that is associated with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Where in the world are you, anyway? Name the famous city and the country it is located in.
