KNOW THE CAUSE!
by Doug Kaufmann
Q
Doug,
If a person had prostate cancer and was willing to make a 180 degree lifestyle
change, what should be the composition of that 180 degree turn?
A...If I recently learned that I had prostate cancer, the first thing I'd do
is get three more opinions. The diagnosis of prostate cancer has come under
tremendous scrutiny in the past few years. At the root of the controversy was
the very test that doctors used for many years as a "guideline" for
diagnosis--the PSA test. Referred to as a Prostate Specific Antigen test, the
test was not even specific to prostate cancer! In fact pregnant women have elevated
PSA test results. I'm actually shocked that it took the "experts"
so many years to figure out that the PSA test was inaccurate at detecting prostate
cancer.
While getting scheduled with three to four more doctors for their opinions,
I'd immediately begin following what we refer to as a "phase one"
diet. I'd make exercise a regular part of each morning and afterwards, I'd juice
with fresh carrots, cabbage, beets and garlic and chase that with 16 ounces
of good, clean water. I'd begin taking probiotics (Natren's Healthy Trinity)
with each meal and psyllium hulls (Natures Sunshine) in the evening just before
bed. Finally, I'd tell my doctor that I wanted a prescription for NIZORAL, an
antifungal drug that prostate cancer researchers had a tremendous report on
a few years ago. I'd take this drug, as prescribed, for a few months and after
finding a physician whom I was comfortable with, I'd check back with him on
an "as needed" basis.

Q
Dear Doug, Since my wife's triple bypass surgery four months
ago, her physician has been unable to keep her blood pressure controlled.
What can we do to get her blood pressure within normal range?
A...It is very unfortunate that surgeries are done without knowledge of why
the problem started in the first place. Please go to the Internet and using
yahoo.com as a search engine, enter the word FUNGALBIONICS. There you will find
a wealth of information on atherosclerosis, or arterial plaque. This is likely
the reason that your wife's doctor did the bypass surgery. I'm far too inquisitive
about health issues and I know that this will eventually frustrate my future
physician, should I hire one. Before I'd let anyone do surgery on me, I'd have
a few questions for them:
- Why did this plaque form?
- Did my diet play a role in this blockage?
What diet should I follow after surgery?
- Will I be on medication after
surgery? Why? Are there natural alternatives to this medication?
I believe you'll find all of your answers in the book, Atherosclerosis, Hope
at Last on the Fungalbionics website. Written by a group of physicians at the
World Health Organization, these doctors dedicated their studies to finding
the cause of heart disease. Once this program is implicated, watch what happens
to her blood pressure.

Q
Hi Doug! I purchased one of the antifungal kits from Bioactive
nutrients and first began taking the Bioplus vitamins. I had an allergic
type reaction within 20 minutes of taking it. I thought it might be the grape
seed extract in the vitamin as one other time I took grape seed extract type
supplement. I got an itching, burning feeling all over, the congested nose,
ears, post nasal drip, etc. Is this a die-off reaction or an allergy? Does
grape seed extract have anti-fungal effect? Thanks, Debby from Lost Creek,
West Virginia
A...Debby, a wise allergist in Los Angeles, once told me "anything can
cause anything!" As confusing as that sounds, it may pertain to your question.
Understand that each of us shares common traits, but we are also each unique
right down to our thumbprints. Grape Seed Extract (GSE), if prepared properly
(I believe that the Seagate company of San Diego does the best non-chemical
preparation of any nutritional products company), should not provoke such a
reaction, unless you are allergic to it, which is highly unlikely. When you
are taking so many nutrients at once, confusion abounds as to which caused the
reaction. I feel that GSE is a very important nutrient and if its preparation
is pure (water vs. chemical), it should not cause such a reaction. To experiment,
take a small amount of a pure preparation on a toothpick and place it under
your tongue. If, within an hour, no adverse signs are noticed, you have probably
either suffered a reaction to a different nutrient in the preparation, or perhaps
have a solvent or chemical reaction to the GSE. GSE has a component called "resveratrol"
that is one of the most potent antifungals known to man.

Q
Dear Mr. Kauffman, I have had a fusion in my back, resulting
in scar tissue confirmed by an MRI. When I walk and sit for a long time,
the scar tissue impinges on the nerves, causing much pain. Can I use sweet
olive oil and 10 drops of lavender on my back. How close can I apply it to
my spine? If you have another recommendation, I would love to hear what you
have to say. Sincerely, Chere from Mustang, OK
A...Chere, It is estimated that 40% of the adult population has chronic pain.
I never really appreciated that statistic until I suffered pain from a biking
accident a few weeks ago...now, I TRULY feel your pain! As you know, surgery
is an art and if the artist is Picasso, scar tissue may have been avoided. That
said, please find a good natural health care practitioner in Mustang and have
them teach you about the benefits of using DMSO in combination with essential
oils like lavender or oregano. As far as other recommendations, I was honored
many years ago to be invited to a major TX hospital and to work with many of
their chronic pain patients. I took the job under one condition; that the physicians
would prescribe NYSTATIN to each of the pain patients. They agreed and I went
to work. Within three weeks, most of these chronic back and neck pain patients
tasted the sweet taste of success! I asked them to adhere to the phase one diet
(any of our books have this diet), while simultaneously taking 1,000,000U Nystatin
with each meal daily for 30 days. The results were staggering, even to me, although
I had long believed that inflammation was caused by yeast and fungi.....after
all, what makes bread rise? Any physician should allow his patients to try Nystatin
as there are literally no side effects to it...try finding another drug in the
pharmacy that can make that claim!

Q
Hi Doug! I was so happy to see you are back on the Family
Net. My question is, I hear so much good about soy products. My naturopath
doctor says I should not take in any soy products because I have lumpy breasts.
She has me on 1-1000mg of vitamin E and Lalani's progestrone cream plus flaxseed
oil, plus many more supplements.
I would like your ideas concerning this. I have been to Lanlani a number of
times for TIP but not since she has stopped doing them. Thank you and please,
please keep up informing us that are concerned about our health. God Bless you,
Doug. Lois
A...Lois, Several FamilyNet affiliates now carry my show, KNOW THE CAUSE!.
I'm thrilled that you see me again! I believe you have found a marvelous naturopath!
Soy, a normally wonderful food, is certainly high on the "estrogenic"
chart and the one thing that we know about serious diseases like cancer and
heart disease is there unequivocal link to elevated estrogen levels. I recently
heard that most of the soybeans in America today are genetically modified organisms
(GMO's). In other words it's being created in laboratories, and I for one have
opted out of eating it for that reason.
Unfortunately, tomatoes fall in that same GMO category, as do so many other
foods we find in grocery stores. We, the people, or course, have no say in this,
but I have found that supporting health food stores is your best bet, as most
will absolutely not support GMO food. Hang onto that naturopath with both hands,
as you have a gem!
FYI, our show is significantly different now as we have added chemist, Kyle
Drew, to our lineup. Kyle joins Jami Clark, RN and David Holland, MD as my regular
guests every day. The Inspiration Network and iLIFE TV now carry KNOW THE CAUSE!.
