GARDEN GUIDANCE
by Carol Holtrop
Master Gardener Coordinator

Huron County Master Gardeners will again sponsor their Spring Into Gardening classes Saturday, March 25, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Ubly Heights Country Club. The general public is invited to take advantage of four of the following classes: Hot New Plants for 2006, Landscape Architecture-What Is It?, Pruning Ornamental Trees and Shrubs, Just Say 'No' to Bambi and Thumper, Shade Gardening, Composting, Do-It-Yourself Herbal Soap, Herbal First Aid, Heritage Gardening, The Basics of Weather, Bonsai, Indispensable Garden Tools and Daylily Forms.

We are fortunate to have two well-known personalities that will share their expertise with us: Mark Torregrossa, Chief Meteorologist from Channel 25, will cover our weather class, and Nancy Szerlag, Detroit News garden writer, will cover Indispensable Garden Tools and Hot, New Plants for 2006. Registration also includes our Yard and Garden Expo, a goodie bag, a delicious lunch and door prizes.

Gardeners may choose to visit the Yard and Garden Expo without registering for classes.

Pre-registration for the day of classes will be $30 per person ($40 after March 7). Registration forms are available by calling 989-269-9949, or you may get one from the Master Gardener site at www.msue.msu.edu/Huron.
