OUR
MAGNIFICENT BODIES
Join The Challenge

We are living in a time in which those who are referred to as "experts"
are giving us the opposite of what we need. Radiation is being used to "cure"
cancer when in fact it causes cancer. Antibiotics, which cause fungus, are
being used to treat sinus infections, which are most often fungal infections!
Antacids are routinely prescribed for digestive disturbances when most often
the disturbance is caused by not enough acid.
The medical establishment and pharmaceutical companies are proving to be money
driven businesses that may not be looking out for our best interest. Take into
consideration medical errors. Medical errors are the number one cause of death
and injury in the United States. The numbers of annual deaths in 2005 from
modern medicine is as follows: Hospital Adverse Reaction - 106,000, Deaths
from Medical Error - 98,000, Deaths from Bedsores - 115,000, Deaths from Infection
- 88,000, Deaths from Malnutrition - 108,800, Deaths from Outpatient Adverse
Reaction - 199,000, Deaths from Unnecessary Procedures - 37,136, Deaths from
Surgery-Related - 32,000 Deaths, Total Annual Deaths by Modern Medicine - 783,936.
Compare these statistics to the risks of natural medicine. Ron Law, a statistician,
in a report titled "Analysis of Relative Risks and Levels of Risk in Canada,"
showed that the use of dietary supplements caused only an average of five confirmed
deaths per year over the past 25 years in the USA. Most of these deaths were
related to a single batch of tryptophan and were not due to the nutrient but
to a genetically-engineered synthetic binder. Tryptophan itself was proven
not the cause.
We must recognize though, that sometimes it is us that want the quick and
easy fix by requesting an antibiotic for a sinus infection, or antacid for
indigestion, or a pain reliever for pain, or cholesterol lowering drug, etc.
We are sometimes stopping short at getting to the cause, and are covering up
the messengers (symptoms). Why do we have the sinus infection, the high blood
pressure, the high cholesterol, pain, diabetes, arthritis, cancer, irritable
bowel syndrome?
I believe the harder we try to suppress the message (symptom), the louder
the message becomes. True vibrant health is available to us, at any age. But
there is a pathway that takes us there and it doesn't involve covering up symptoms
and unfortunately may not be available in our doctor's office at all. There
is one disease, and that is degeneration. Cancer, diabetes, Crohn's etc., are
only symptoms of this one disease.
Our bodies work so beautifully that they continue to offer up these messages
to us until we listen. To listen is to embark on a journey that gets to the
cause. There are tests that indicate high blood pressure, high cholesterol,
diabetes, cancer etc. But what we need is the test to find out why! What is
the cause? I believe the cause in most cases is fungus.
The most reliable test that I know of for testing the presence of a fungal
infection is Doug Kaufmann's Phase One diet. Doug Kaufmann has over 32 years
of experience that proves that two weeks on the Phase One diet is plenty of
time, in most instances, to realize the fungal component to health problems.
If you feel better and health improves and symptoms disappear, the connection
is made. This is just the beginning though. Testing for two or three weeks
and then reverting to old ways will only bring about more messengers and will
quickly remind you why you started the diet.
The Phase One diet is step one of the antifungal program. I offer you a challenge,
to commit to the Phase One diet (or Phase Two depending on your circumstances)
for at least two to three weeks. Let this be your quest for the fungus link
in your own health. Join the National Challenge by visiting www.drjenine.com.
Make your commitment, along with hundreds of others, who like you, want better
health, more energy, weight loss, normalization of body functions and a decrease
in messengers. Whether you are taking the challenge for the first time, or
are renewing your commitment, we welcome you aboard to better health. You can
feel confident as you take on this commitment, that you are not alone.
Arm yourself with the knowledge and tools that will be necessary to join this
challenge with confidence by being prepared to follow step two of the anti-fungal
program from the start. We highly recommend joining this challenge with any
one of Doug Kaufmann's books in hand. All of Doug's books include the Phase
One and Phase Two diet in their entirety, along with valuable supporting information
and serve as powerful motivators.
We discussed Step One of the anti-fungal program in the March issue
(http://www.lakeshoreguardian.com/_2006/032006/cohoon.php). Now on to Step
Two; move your bowels! As fungi is killed inside your body, it is imperative
that you move it out, and quickly. Doug Kafumann recommends psyllium hull or
slippery elm as a good source of fiber to carry out colon waste. Both are excellent
choices. I recommend the same. If constipation is a chronic problem for you,
consider that a magnesium deficiency can be a cause of this. Oxy-Powder may
be a good choice for this. Fresh vegetables such as carrots and broccoli cannot
be underestimated on this program. Not only do they provide vital nutrients
and roughage, but are also highly antifungal!
Moving your bowels will also stimulate your immune system! It has been shown
that 70-80% of the immune system is in the intestines. This is where your immune
system begins, and where it can get compromised.
Bowel and intestinal reactions can differ greatly from person to person depending
on the individual person's age, exercise patterns, diet and other factors including
structural abnormalities, age, neurogenic disorders, heavy consumption of junk
food, iron supplements, pain killers, anti-depressants, low levels of thyroid
hormone, kidney failure, diabetes, dehydration on a daily basis, heart medications,
and antihistamines. As you "stir" up the toxins, you'll know it.
If you experience discomfort, stick it out, it gets better, and vibrant health
becomes a part of who you are. *Depending on your situation, it can take from
a few months to a couple of years on the program to rejuvenate the body.

Nautical nuisances not wanted!
Secretary of State promotes decal to protect Michigan waters
Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land today announced that Michigan boaters can
strike a blow against invasive aquatic species by purchasing a 2006 Great Lakes
Protection Fund decal.
Order forms are included with this year's watercraft registration renewal
notices. The decal, which costs $35, supports research and education efforts
to control invasive species such as zebra mussels in the Great Lakes and other
Michigan waters. More than 250,000 renewal notices are in the mail to boat
owners. Decals may also be ordered online through the Michigan e-Store at www.michigan.gov/michiganmall.
"With the Great Lakes and nearly 11,000 inland lakes, Michigan holds
a special place in the hearts of boaters," Land said. "Controlling
the spread of zebra mussels, sea lampreys and other invasive creatures is vital
if we are to continue enjoying all the benefits our beautiful waterways provide.
The decal is available to anyone interested in supporting this worthy cause.
Please help stamp out all unwanted, pesky, marine intruders by purchasing one
today."
The 2006 decal features a sailboat and a lone leaping
fish against a backdrop of still, blue waters, majestic pink clouds, a deep
orange sun and the silhouette of a lighthouse. A call to "Protect Michigan's Great Lakes" across
the top completes the design. The decal is for decoration only and does not
replace any required registration or identification stickers.
As boat owners prepare to renew their three-year registrations, Land encourages
them to take advantage of the convenience and timesavings provided by the Department
of State's online watercraft registration renewal system. The online program
is found at www.Michigan.gov/sos from March 1 to August 31. Registration decals
are mailed within seven days after an online renewal is processed.
"I encourage all boaters to take advantage of online watercraft renewal,"
said Land, who oversees the state's watercraft registration file. "It's
easy and fast. Why spend any more time away from the water than you have to?"
Online watercraft renewals totaled 15,391 in fiscal year 2004. The number
of boaters renewing in 2005 surged to 27,049, a 75-percent increase.
The Web-based program allows residents to renew from their homes or offices
anytime of the day or night. Payment is by VISA, MasterCard or Discover credit
cards. Watercraft registrations may also be renewed by touch-tone telephone,
mail or at a branch office. Touch-tone renewal is available March 1 through
August 31.
All watercraft on Michigan waters, including privately owned lakes and waterways,
must be registered unless exempt. Some registration exemptions include:
- Watercraft 16 ft. or less, propelled by oars or paddles, and not
used for rental or commercial purposes,
- Nonmotorized canoes and kayaks not used for rental or commercial purposes,
rafts, surfboards, sailboards and swim floats, regardless of length, and
- Watercraft registered in another state and used only temporarily in
Michigan.
For most watercraft, the registration fee is based on length.
