KNOW THE CAUSE!
by Doug Kaufmann
Q
Doug, We have watched and listened to your program in the past.
We have been amazed at the information you seem to be able to give out. Do
you have any books written that we could purchase that would have the general
information regarding your health advice? We have ordered a year's subscription
and look forward to reading more. We had been able to get your program on
the Sky Angel network, but unfortunately, we moved in our town to an area
where the dish is unable to receive the same reception.
Ken (my husband) has just been to the doctor for his yearly physical. The doctor
states the cholesterol is too high (233) and the LDL is also high at 156. We
are on a healthy diet of vegetables, fish, fruit, and fiber, but it doesn't
seem to bring about the best results. We are Scandinavian and love seafood.
Should we be alarmed? We are just in our 60s and don't like to take the chemicals
that doctors prescribe. We do not smoke and only have a glass of wine once a
week (approx).
We walk daily and are not at all overweight (Ken -170# and myself-
130#) at average height -5'10" and 5'6". I think it is just the
natural process of aging, but we would appreciate your input. Thank you.
Linda
A
Linda, before there were statin drugs used to artificially lower cholesterol
levels, there were fewer heart attacks than there are today. With that said,
I truly believe that what Americans need is a dose, not of statin drugs, but
of common sense. Many years ago, I submitted to a cholesterol test. I know the
concern you have now, because my own cholesterol came back at 225! I exercised
regularly, ate a great diet, lived a relatively stress free life, yet my levels
were elevated. Were the decided upon cholesterol "standards" just
plain wrong, or was I a heart attack waiting to happen? I decided that my fate
was not in a laboratory or drug companies' hands. I continue to live my life
as before with one exception. Within 48 hours of my test results coming in,
I made the decision that life was too short to live in fear; I'll never again
knowingly submit to a cholesterol test. If our best and brightest have admitted
that they cannot cure a common cold, or any one of the 100 autoimmune disorders,
I've just got to question their knowledge of the relevancy of this blood test.
Don't use me as your standard Linda, but certainly know that your diet, lifestyle
and current weight certainly do not seem to place you at a high risk for heart
disease. More information is available in my fungus link series of books. Please

Q
To Doug Kaufman: I have been watching Know The Cause for the
past year and am intrigued and thrilled to learn about the natural methods
to health. I am ever so enthusiastic every morning to watch another of your
shows. Unfortunately, not everyone knows about the truths you share. Thought
you might like to have a copy of this article I just received from a headliner.
Neat the way some people think, isn't it?

Fungus blamed for Wash. porpoise deaths - Yahoo! News http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061006/ap_on_sc/fungus_porpoises
A
Nancy, what a valid point you bring up! Isn't it interesting how these
scientists acknowledge that this form of Cryptococcus fungus can kill humans
and is now killing cats and fish, yet our biggest medical concern at this time
of year
is shortages of flu vaccine? According to my Bible, on the day
He died, Christ looked up into the heavens and said, "Father, forgive them,
for they know not what they do." It is my continued prayer that someday,
this important work involving fungus as the very root cause of human illness
and death, will be carefully studied and revealed, thereby saving millions of
human lives. Now, let's move onto more important medical issues
where's
my flu shot?

Q
Doug, Lamisil is a dangerous drug. Distilled white vinegar
applied morning and night under the nail will change the PH to where the
fungus cannot spread. So, keep applying the vinegar and clipping the nail
in a month or two the fungus will be gone.
Keep up the good work! John
A
Good for you, John! I'm, actually hard pressed to find any prescriptive
drugs that are safe. I may have told you that upon coming home from Vietnam
in 1971, we experimented with the drug Nizoral (Lamisil X 10!) and my symptoms
improved dramatically. What this confirmed for me was a fungal root cause to
my illness. Little did I know at that time, nor do most Americans know today,
that prescriptive drugs injure and kill almost one million people annually
and
that's what medical journals are documenting. Vinegar has yet to kill one person
and is excellent at relieving nail fungus
just give it time and know that
as your nails begin to get better, your liver won't suffer because of your treatment
choice! Thanks, John

Q
Dear Doug, I have had a problem with my sense of smell for
about five years. It started when I couldn't smell things with a definite
odor, and several things smelled lighter. I really noticed about eight months
ago that cigarettes, coffee, and bananas smelled different, definitely not
the norm, all seemed to take on a chemical smell (I no longer smoke, nor
do I like the taste of bananas now). About two months ago, my dog was having
a problem with his anal glands, and he got it on me a few times - the smell
was horrible, an oily fishy smell.
Sometimes I think it is even burning my eyes and I think I can taste it, it
seems to be stronger in the house, but I can smell it outside also as well as
other locations, but most of the time it seems stronger inside the house, car,
store etc. Yesterday I woke to the smell about 3:30 in the morning, and it stayed
with me at least 90% of the day; it was nearly as bad outside as inside. By
afternoon I was a basket case and could not stop crying. Today has not been
too bad, sometime the smell is near unbearable, but I would say so far, I have
had about a 60% good day. One thing I do is put a plug in one nostril, as I
read on line that the odor is from one side of the nose, maybe for awhile, but
I have to switch and it does seem to help some. My sense of smell seems to have
improved in some areas, such as perfume, aftershave, foods, etc. I smelled a
banana a couple of days ago, and it smelled much more like a banana. I am really
confused about all this and I am becoming quite anxious and depressed. I read
some things on the Internet and nothing sounded too good. So of course I am
scared that this smell will not go away and I do not think I could bear that.
I have over the years had problems with a stuffy nose and always used a lot
of nasal spray: 4 way for several years, then I switched to Vicks Sinex. I have
also used salt water solution that I made at home, Nutri Biotics grapefruit
seed extract, and olive leaf extract nasal sprays. Recently I used a sample
size bottle of Nasonex. I have had a few sinus infections over the years and
have had many sinus headaches. One sinus infection I remember in particular
was unlike any I had ever had before, and the mucus that came out of my nose
was literally a clear fluorescent red-orange and then it turned to a flourescent
yellow, and it was a major amount. That was about seven or eight years ago -
never had anything like it before or since; one other time I did not have any
symptoms of a sinus infection, but suddenly felt I needed to blow my nose and
what came out looked like a mud ball - this only happened once. I also had a
bad pneumonia about five years ago that took two antibiotics to get rid of,
I think it was 10 days of ampicillin and then Zithromax. I have also used antibiotics
on other occasions, but would not consider myself a heavy user.
I have suffered a few times in life with anxiety attacks; I have had four children;
and when I was about 34, I had a partial hysterectomy (Uterus only) - reason
was extremely heavy periods. Otherwise I have been pretty healthy. Thank you
in advance, Barbara.
A
Barbara, people mistakenly believe that it takes many, many rounds of
antibiotics to cause health problems. Antibiotics are fungal metabolites, called
mycotoxins. In some cases, the initial dose can cause health problems, but I
suspect your olfactory (sense of smell) problem has less to do with the medications
you've taken than the air you're breathing every day. Remember, in 1999, The
Mayo Clinic documented that 97% of chronic sinusitis cases were linked, not
to bacteria, as was previously believed, but to fungus! Do you know how all
of that mold got into the sinuses? Correct! You inhaled! A moldy home is NOT
a dirty home, rather a home that at sometime in its history simply leaked. Roof
leaks are the most common offenders, but toilet seal leaks, garbage disposal
leaks and window leaks (to name very few) all have to be considered as the cause
of sinusitis. It is also my belief that many cases of pneumonia are linked to
fungus, but unfortunately antibiotics are used exclusively in hospitals. I often
wonder if the deaths due to pneumonia have to do with fueling the yeast/mold
fire with antibiotics. At the very least I believe they're on the right track.
Remember, it took scientists 100 years to finally arrive at the sinus-fungus
link and it may take another 100 for them to understand why pneumonia treatment
failures exist, but the direction their traveling is correct.
All of the antifungal sprays in the world do little good if you continue to
inhale mold spores daily. It's analogous to shooting a deer with a BB gun. If
I were in your shoes, I'd immediately call HealthQuest Technologies (866-746-6247)
and purchase a Pionair air treatment system for your house. If this does not
provide relief in 30-days, simply return the unit and get your money back, but
I believe your name will be added to the tens of thousands of satisfied customers
that HealthQuest already has. Once your olfactory sense is recaptured, then
cleaning out the sinus fungal debris (the "mud balls" you reference),
if this is the cause, will be necessary and may take several months.

Q
Hi Doug, I have been diagnosed with Polymyositis and have been
doctoring for about six years without any improvement. I was wondering if
you had any suggestions. I am on a very long list of medications. I have
to take folic acid for sore mouth from the methotrexate and fexofenadine
for hives. I also have high blood pressure and poor bone density. I had a
celiac sprue for about 45 years before I was correctly diagnosed and don't
want to go the same way with this ailment. I went to many doctors and the
last one found it in the small intestine the first time he did the scope.
It is the easiest disease to get over, just stay away from the gluten. I
am also lactose intolerant and I have pernicious anemia.
My rheumatologist says there isn't anything else to do. I have taken therapy
and am going to start water therapy this month. I had been having trouble with
my eyes and upon reading the information that came with the prednisone, it says
it can cause vision problems.
I am 82-years-old and up until about six years ago I had no foot, leg or hip
problems so this is a bitter pill to take. I planned on traveling some when
I retired, but now I am afraid to.
I would be very thankful and appreciative if you have any suggestions. I live
in Port Sanilac so I won't be able to come to your meeting in Harbor Beach.
Unless I am mistaken, it is at night and I really don't care to drive that far
at night. I keep watching and if you should come to a place closer or in the
day time, I would love to attend. Sincerely, Shirley.
A
Sometimes medical science dazzles us with many syllable words, which
are, far too often, inadequately explained to patients. Let's start by making
this complex word really simple: "Poly" means many, "myos"
means muscles and "itis" means inflammation or swelling. Polymyositis
simply means that your muscles are swelling. Hmmm, what makes bread rise? It
just couldn't be that simple...could it? As I read your letter I see a very
healthy 76-year-young woman, who is, six years later, 82-years-old. Doctor,
what has happened to me? "Take this pill" is not the correct answer
and "There is nothing else to do" often means "I don't understand
the role of fungus in inflammatory disease, nor did I learn anything in medical
school about diet or supplements." It is not your doctors' fault. As you
know I question the reason for pharmaceutical involvement in medical schools
and continuing medical education. Therein, I believe, lies the reason doctors
cannot help their patients. There is far too much money involved in treating
symptoms to ever care what causes them!
Before the doctors ever figured out your Celiac Sprue disease decades ago,
I'm certain that many tried antibiotic relief. I have long stated that the damage
done by antibiotics is rarely done when taking them. I believe that in some
cases it takes many years, even many decades for the bacterial void in the intestines,
caused by antibiotics, to cause ill health and patient misery. If I were you,
I'd ask my rheumatologist if you may try my Phase One Diet, Dr. Ohhira's probiotics
(800-768-1008) and a good antimicrobial supplement, like caprylic acid, available
in health food stores. It may take a few months, but if I were a betting man,
I'd bet that you'll someday become 84-years-young. I hope someone reads this
and gives you a ride to Harbor Beach
because I'd love to meet you on November
2nd
Gentlemen, start my engines
I'm going to Harbor Beach, MI! Blessings!
Doug
