  1. Which of the following are true?
    1. The Eames Lounge Chair was featured on the hit TV series, "Frasier".
    2. The husband and wife team of Charles and Ray Eames design a chair that Time magazine later called the "design of the century."
    3. Now celebrating 50 years of non-stop production, The Herman Miller Company, in Zeeland, MI, has produced more than 100,000 of these comfy "made in Michigan" chairs that sell for over $3,245.
    4. The Eames Lounge Chair is now in New York's Museum of Modern Art, as part of its permanent collection.

  2. A Detroit entrepreneur, who opened his first clothing store in the old Detroit Opera House Building, lent his name to a new automobile company that grew to be the third largest in the auto industry, surpassed only by Ford and Chevrolet. Though his namesake automobile company is now but a memory, baby boomers recall the giant American flags he hung on the side of a 25-story building that, in 1961, was the world's tallest department store. It was here that a Cass Tech student became one of the company's first black employees. Her name - Diana Ross. Name this Michigan businessman who was the first sponsor of Detroit's Thanksgiving Parade.

  3. Designated as a historic site by the Michigan Historical Commission, this market is now in its 166th year of operation. Horse-drawn carts, and now semi-trailer trucks, have hauled in tons of fresh produce to this market, which was built on the site of an earlier hay and wood market. Previous to this, it was the site of an ancient Native American burial ground. Later, Generals Ulysses S. Grant, George Custer and John J. Pershing headquartered their troops in the area and sections of the Underground Railroad passed through. Name this well-known Michigan market.

  4. "Life is like a bowl of cherries" on this narrow, ridge-top peninsula, where more cherries are grown per acre than anywhere else in the world. Jutting 18 miles into a Lake Michigan bay, the peninsula's first settler, a Presbyterian missionary, planted the area's first cherry orchards. Early visitors who came to see the cherry trees blossom in May, stayed at a picturesque hotel that opened 18 years before Mackinac Island's historic Grand Hotel. Still in operation today, its registered guests have included Babe Ruth and Joe Lewis. Name this Michigan peninsula, which is also famous for grapes.

  5. True or False: The J.L. Hudson Company opened Northland, the world's first shopping center, in Southfield, Michigan.
