  2. When this town was settled, it was named Livingston Centre, due to its location in the middle of Livingston County. The city is best known today for hosting the Michigan Challenge Balloonfest, an annual hot air balloon festival. The city also hosts a Melon Festival, an annual celebration of a juicy hybrid cantaloupe known to grow only in the surrounding area. The city also boasts Michigan's largest indoor play structure. Name this city whose downtown area is a treasure trove of Victorian and turn-of-the-century storefronts.

  3. When a sea that once covered parts of Michigan evaporated, it deposited layers of salt that were later buried under glacial till. These underground salt beds are located under the oldest city in the Midwest. The mined salt was used for various purposes, including melting road ice and making ice cream. When the 1,400-acre mine closed, there were more than 50 miles of underground roads, 1,200 feet below the surface. To get trucks into the mine, they had to be taken apart and lowered down a mineshaft, piece by piece, and then reassembled. This salt mine is located under the only city in the United States from which you can look south and see the Canadian mainland. Name this city.
